Clinical Mental Health for the Military-affiliated Population

Providing services for veterans and their family members is a vital component of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. However, most CCBHCs struggle to engage with organizations such as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to coordinate care for veterans. This series will deliver content focused on building effective partnership with the VA (or similar organizations) to coordinate care for members of the military.

Session 3: Service members, veterans and their families (SMVF) often have unique behavioral health and social support needs that are less common in populations with no military affiliation. This webinar will discuss the range of clinical considerations that practitioners should be aware of when treating SMVF, as well as provide an overview of the Star Behavioral Health Providers Training Program. Additionally, representatives from select CCBHCs will share how they have implemented clinical care for the military-affiliated population in their programs.
