Introduction to the CCBHC Requirements for Medical Directors
In spring 2024, 10 states were welcomed into the CCBHC Medicaid demonstration, expanding the number of health care leaders serving as CCBHC medical directors. These individuals may be unfamiliar with CCBHC requirements of medical directors and require education and training. In this series of one-hour webinars for CCBHC medical directors, members of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Medical Director Institute (MDI) will provide tailored training and technical assistance to new CCBHC medical directors (either new CCBHCs or those new to the role). The series will cover CCBHC requirements that involve medical directors as well as provide guidance on leadership and organizational management from those who have “been there.” Each session will function independently; it is not required to participate in all offered sessions.
Learning Objectives:
- Welcome new CCBHC Medical Directors to CCBHC Demonstration.
- Provide a high-level overview of the CCBHC requirements that will require involvement from the medical director.
- Via polling and discussion at the event, gain insight on the audience, what type of future support for CCBHC Demonstration Site Medical Directors is desired from National Council, and plan for future “coaching” or other sessions to be sponsored by the MDI Education Subcommittee.
